The lineup for Shrewsbury Folk Festival 2026 continues to grow, with Cut Capers, Malin Lewis, Katherine Priddy and Zimbabwean artist Edith WeUtonga among the latest additions. A newly commissioned show, Adriano Adewale & Friends: Rooted and Rising, will bring together musicians spanning traditions from England, Brazil, Haiti, the Punjab and beyond.

The festival runs over the August Bank Holiday weekend (28-31 August) at the riverside DMOS People West Mid Showground, with four music stages, a dance tent, workshops, crafts, food and camping all on offer.

Shrewsbury residents have until 12.30pm on Friday 6 March to vote for their favourite Market Hall Trader of the Year, as part of the annual Mayor of Shrewsbury Awards.

For the first time, voting can be done online here, making it easier than ever to show support for one of the 57 brilliant stallholders in the running. Paper voting slips are also available at the Town Council offices on St John's Hill.

Shrewsbury International Comedy Festival has confirmed that stand-up comedian Scott Bennett will return as MC for its flagship gala show on Sunday 12 July.

Bennett, praised by the Evening Standard as live comedy's best-kept secret, is joined on the bill so far by Ignacio Lopez and Esther Manito, with more acts still to be announced.

An evening of conversation and connection to mark International Women’s Day at St Vincent’s Wine Bar.
