Music lovers have a fresh reason to head out on a Sunday evening, as Severn Folk launches its debut night at Reabrook Social Club on Scott Street on 19th April.

The new monthly club will feature floor performances from local musicians, a resident band, and a special nod to the original Shrewsbury Folk Club with stories from former members.

All are welcome, whether seasoned folk fans or first-timers. More details at SevernFolk.co.uk.

Shrewsbury's much-loved Pont Bakery has announced it will be closing, with Easter Monday (6th April) set to be its final day of trading. The team shared the news on social media, describing the decision as difficult but no longer avoidable.

A new addition has arrived on one of Shrewsbury's most characterful streets. Mason's has opened on Butcher Row, specialising in grazing boards, charcuterie, and sharing platters.

All resident artists from English Bridge Studios are coming together this spring for the EBS Showcase: Annual Group Exhibition 2026, hosted at The Gateway Gallery.

Running from 13th April to 27th May, the show spans printmaking, photography, ceramics, drawing, and mixed media.

A free preview evening takes place on 9th April from 5 to 7pm, with RSVPs opening via the EBS website.

A great opportunity to explore the creative talent here in Shrewsbury.

The Shrewsbury International Comedy Festival has added a special standalone show to its 2026 line-up. Clinton Baptiste, the hapless clairvoyant from Peter Kay's Phoenix Nights, will perform An Audience With at Theatre Severn on Friday 10th July.

The evening promises a blend of comedy and tongue-in-cheek psychic readings, exclusive to SICFest and not part of his current sold-out tour. Tickets are available from the Theatre Severn box office or at theatresevern.co.uk.
