RAD Beer hosts a special tap takeover celebrating Cloudwater’s sought after Chubbles range, including several variations of the popular hazy TIPA. Alongside the beers, RUB & DAB will be serving Southern African barbecue from their offset smoker, with food available from the evening.

Shrewsbury has earned a glowing mention in the annual Sunday Times Best Places to Live guide, with the town's Market Hall singled out as one of the most inspiring shopping destinations in the entire country.

The guide praised the town's 57 independent traders, along with its independent delis, bakeries, bars, and cafes. Read the full story at the Shropshire Star.

Shrewsbury's Theatre Royal has a rich and fascinating history. Built in 1791 as the town's first dedicated performance venue, it later became a picture house and by 1935 could seat around 650 film-goers.

A fire in 1945 ended its days as a theatre, and the building was eventually converted into shops and flats. Glimpses of its original facade remain visible today.

Families looking for something to do over Easter weekend can visit Salop Leisure at Emstrey for a free children's trail running from Friday 3 to Monday 6 April.

Kids collect a trail sheet at reception and search the site for hidden letters to complete a mystery word, with a chocolate egg as the reward.

A sweet shop with a family story behind it has opened in Shrewsbury Market Hall. Sweet Chemistry, launched by local businessman Jamie behind The Ol'Chemist bar and restaurant, is run by his mum Sandra, who worked in the market hall for 18 years before a 23-year gap.

The new stall offers traditional pick 'n' mix, ice cream, homemade puddings, and barista coffee. Welcome back, Sandra!

Local street food event SCRAN is heading to English Bridge Studios this Saturday, 28 March, from noon until 8pm. Expect a full day of street food, drinks, live beats, and local talent.

The popular Belle Vue Art and Scarecrow Trail is back on 13 and 14 June 2026, this year themed around Fantasy. Voting returns for a public favourite, and for the first time a dedicated display area means you don't need a front garden to enter. Shrewsbury homeware and lifestyle shop Dutch Living has announced it will be closing on 30 April. The team have expressed gratitude to customers who have supported them throughout their time in the town.

A sale with significant reductions began on Saturday 21 March. Outset Coffee, which shares the space, will continue trading as usual.

Shrewsbury's Dwtylife Yoga classes have found a new home at Soul Circle Studio on Shrewsbury Business Park (SY2).
