A Colourful Creative Treat

On Sunday afternoon, 27 of us gathered upstairs at Floro Lounge for an Arty Afternoon with the wonderful Anna Moszynska, who’s running a series of crafting workshops in the lead-up to Christmas.

This session focused on paper crafting and what a colourful, creative treat it turned out to be. We learned how to make paper flowers in all shapes and styles, from delicate stems to vibrant wreaths and cheery boxed bouquets.

Who knew that a few sheets of paper, a dab of glue, and a pair of scissors could spark so much creativity and fun!

Among the crafters were two brilliantly named children, Fern and Clover, who certainly raised the bar with their beautiful creations.

One participant marked the start of her retirement with a collaborative wreath made by her colleagues as a lovely keepsake.

For many, it was simply two hours of bliss: making, chatting, laughing, and forgetting the to-do list at home with Floro Lounge proving to be the perfect venue offering us a warm, spacious, and, as one attendee put it, “much nicer than a draughty village hall.

Anna was a fantastic facilitator, demonstrating each technique with clarity and enthusiasm, and always on hand with encouragement and tips.

So, whether you’re a seasoned crafter or just curious, we can’t think of a nicer way to spend a Sunday afternoon, creating some magic, mess, and just a bit of ‘me’ time.

Sessions run on the second Wednesday of each month from 7–9pm at GlouGlou on Castle Gates.
